Now for something COMPLETELY different…

I cannot even take credit for these. These are all shots taken by my husband, Mark, with a Flir Systems P60 Infrared Camera. It is one of the cameras he uses for his work.
The first shot is of Missy (the cat). The second one is of our middle son playing on his computer, the last one is of my youngest son sitting on my office window seat doing his homework. (He wanted me to make sure that everyone knows that the thing that seems to be coming out of his face is a pencil.)
To see the camera itself, and information about it's uses, see the previous post.

now this is very cool! I like the bottom image the best! cheers ;)
Wow! Those are really wild! I am so glad you shared them with us.
Azhar...This camera is strictly a tool used for thermography. My husband uses it to diagnose problems with electrical and mechanical equipmenmt used in our electric utilities distribution and generation systems here in NJ.
He uses these cameras to inspect overhead wires, transformers, sub-stations, generating stations, generating equipment, motors, and other things that have to do with the electric utilities infrastructure.
This tool saves millions of dollars every year by diagnosing potential problems with the electric utilities infratructure, before it becomes a major problem that can cause a major equipment failure.
While these cameras are very expensive, around $50,000 US, they are not used as an artistic medium, so the pictures here don't have artistic merit, I just thought they were very interesting.
Other uses for these types of cameras is law enforcement, finding fugitives, fire department finding people in heavy fire and smoke conditions, border security, among other things. The cameras used in those cases aren't as sophisticated however. They work by finding differences in temperatures of the subject. This particular camera can read temperatures withing 1% accuracy.
I just thought people would be interested to see these.
Very cool, Laurie! Thanks for posting these!
