Fishing by the Wreck
This was shot on an early October evening just around sunset in Highlands. It's a popular spot among the locals to go and fish. I don't know how that sailboat came to be wrecked there, but I can tell by the looks of it that it was a nice vessel at one time, not terribly old, and I'm sure someone was not too happy about it. You can see other shots from the same day and location here and here. I've been seriously lacking inspiration lately. I'm not sure why, perhaps the rather gray uninspiring weather and being too busy with other things to get out and shoot, but it's been difficult to find things that I want to shoot and or post. I hope this "funk" lifts soon and I get that old thrill back again. In the meantime I hope you will all bear with me and not get too terribly disappointed.

Its an interesting composition of the boat and fisherman.
Its ok to feel a little off track. Rest a bit and you will be able to come back like gang busters.
Lovely shot! I'm amazed too at the good condition of the boat. It must be worth a pretty penny...too much to just abandon I would think.
Laurie, this is a nice shot. Don't worry you are not lacking inspration as you mentioned, you've got it deep within you but you just need to reach out for it.
Nothing at all disappointing about this shot, Laurie!! This is definitely one of those feel good shot.
It sure is a challenging time of year, that is sure. And I hate the funks!
Great shot, Laurie. I like the B&W....and you certainly can't tell by your photos that you're in a funk. You always do great work! I find the best thing to get myself out of the occasion creative funk is to grab my camera and get back out there! :-)
Nice one.
nice shot,
love the composition,
but would have liked the center of focus on the man,
anyhow,it doesnt look as if youre in a funk....your recent shots have been great..!
looking forward to more festival type shops...
Great image. I like the juxtaposition of the guy nonchalantly fishing next to the grounded boat.
I always wonder about the quality of fish in those kinds of areas. Are they as good? Or do they do catch and release? :-)
Very cool capture and moment. I like the black and white.
b/w is great but i can also feel the depression emanating cuz of the slight muddy tones...dont worry, the darkest moment comes before dawn and all of that...
It's Decemeber, weather gloomy, presents to buy, lots of people to please, I guess it's that time of the year when ones main passion does actually take a back seat to ones family :)
Suby
I like the guy fishing in the foreground, thats aninteresting addition to the wrecked ship.
Beautiful capture of this moment. Great atmosphere.
Funk inded. I've been there myself for some time. Seasonal affective disorder? Could be.
As for the photo, hell, it's good :)
After dark only comes light, so don't get disapointed.
for the shot the b/w version captures the moment well.
nice drama using b/w on the picture.
hey, we dont always catch a fish whenever we cast right? just keep on trying, and it will all come back.
Great shot. I love the placement of the boat in this shot
i hate to fish...dont know why, im only one in my whole family who dont fish, i eat it but not kill it :)
I think that this shot is very nice. It smells freedom or oil :))))
just joking. I feel how relaxed that dude is. and it makes me calm down myself. very well done.
+ is that you´v made it in b-w it gives it more fall-winter feeling :)
I would like to be there... A beautiful game on the grey
Maybe the boat isn't wrecked, it's just parked.
I love this photo. Everything about it is balanced.
Very lovely shot Laurie, looks like a beautiful spot. I think we all feel the same as you do from time to time but then the inspiration will come back before you know it :)
