Under the GWB looking at NY from Fort Lee

This was taken on New Years Eve from a park that is under the George Washington Bridge in Fort Lee NJ. There is also a park up above on a cliff that has beautiful views of the bridge and the surrounding area as well.

It seemed kind of creepy being under this massive bridge with all the traffic rumbling far overhead.

On Saturday we did end up with temps in the 70's and Sunday it was in the 50's, still very warm for January. They say the cold air is coming, I'm going to miss the warm stuff! Although a little snow would be nice.

I love this perspective. Good capture. There's always dark areas in such shots, I guess solution is HDR. Here's the one I took last year. Couldn't avoid top right.

So, that's what that thing looks like underneath! I've only been over it twice. Once on the way to Maine from Pennsylvania, and once on the way back, both times at night. The one thing that I remember about it was traffic. Lots and lots of traffic. It sure looks better from this side! :-)

It stands strong and mighty from this viewpoint. The sound of traffic when standing under a large bridge always makes my heart beat a little faster, even though there's nothing to fear. The rumbling is just so booming.

Very nice point of view, quite different from the normal side shot. With all the intersecting lines it looks wonderful in B&W.

As everyone said.... great perspective and angle on this one. I like your composition.... the heaviness at the top that gives you the feeling of really being under the bridge. This is WAY belated but... wishing you a very happy and healthy 2007!
