Easter Desert "Khrustyky"

I hope everyone who celebrates it enjoyed a very nice Easter. We had a nice Easter with family. We always have a traditional Ukrainian Easter. Mark's side of the family is Ukrainian and Russian. One of the favorite Ukrainian foods is "Khrustyky" a fried pastry sprinkled with powdered sugar. It's light and crunchy and a little messy, but oh sooo tasty. It's one of Russell's favorites.

Thank you all for the support of my "call to action" regarding the Verizon wireless. For those who hadn't read my last post, Verizon Wireless has a policy of suspending wireless service for 6 months while a service member is deployed. They will not extend the suspension longer than 6 months. At the end of the 6 months the # is disconnected permanently and reassigned. However deployments are 12 months or more so the policy is utterly useless. I am putting out a call to action for Verizon customers to let them know how pointless this policy is and to urge them to change the policy to extend the suspension for up to 24 months so soldiers can keep their phone numbers. I don't think it's too much to ask of a big company like Verizon to do such a small thing for the members of the military who are deployed and in harms way.

Yum! you can never go wrong with anything fried. The only thing better is when you put powered sugar on top. I think this is done to make sure the extra oil does not get away :)

Sorry Laurie - I think this is very cruel! How could tease someone like this? Now, you could box those up, run down to the post office and put them on priority mail - I'll be eating them Thursday! What do you think ? Huh?
:-)) The image is your usual - spectacular! The details and tones are perfect!

I'll be waiting by the mailbox......

@ David Tinnon...I always read your comments on Kathleen's site and I am always very entertained by your witty comments, and wonderful observations. You certainly have a way with words. I've also visited your site a time or two or three and have to say your work is lovely.

Thank you for visiting here. Trust me though I am no Betty Crocker. I cannot take credit for the pastry in the photo. I think it was actually from the bakery. Lets just say I should stick with photography and not get too crazy in the kitchen.
