Tri-pod, uh, no, Mono-Pod, hmmm, no Bi-Pod!!!
I saw this couple in Liberty State Park on Saturday. I talked with them for a few moments since I'd noticed his creative use of his girlfriends shoulder as a tri-pod. He complained that his 600mm lens, was nearly impossible to hand hold and he really needed to get a tri-pod or at least a mono-pod. He had noticed that I was using a mono-pod at the time.He was shooting with an "old film camera" as he put it, and what looked like a pretty old, if not somewhat well used 600mm lens.

If this guy's shot turns out sharp after shooting like that, I'd say he owes her a nice shoulder massage!
Nice contrast in this shot.
reminds me of Sue and I...except i fulfill the role of bipod in our relationshp!!
That's a great shot! ;-) Well seen!
Well captured. Hey she is doing a fine job!
I wonder how nmuch he paid her for this lol
Lovely capture Laurie, I like the fact you turned this into a B&W.

Great shot. We do what we have to do to get the shot, don't we? Growing up, I was always entertained by the contorted positions my Dad would sometime get into trying to frame a shot. :-)
nice candid :-)...works well in bw
A very fine scene. Beautiful and neat image!
I tried posting a link on your aminus blog, but it kept treating it as spam. Here's the info on Focal Length multiplier...

The lens still remains a "200mm", as it is, but the EXIF data takes into account the 1.5x (Nikon) 1.6x (Canon).

CP...Thanks,
I did understand what you were saying about it on the other post, what I was wondering is why it shows up as 200mm in Bridge instead of 300mm in AM3 EXIF? In other words why does Adobe Bridge, Nikon Capture, and other editing software read it one way and AM3 another? Coming from a film background I did know about the sensor size and not being full frame. I also have an Olympus DSLR which is 4/3's system and AM3 actually reads the same EXIF as Bridge and the other editing software, it seems to only be my Nikon where Am3 reads the EXIF differently. I hope that makes sense.
Laurie
wish I had a wife like that ;-)
lol...thats so funny and u captured it well.
Nice picture. I like this type, when you find a moment in time.
George
Hahahaha... I want the same tripod! ;-)
Funny picture!
Nicely observed slice of photographic life. I love the contrast between him in white (including the lens) and her in black - perfect for B&W.
LOL this is really funny!!!
I love it. Well spotted and excellet capture!
Laurie, shots like these make me really happy. I very much like how you composed this shot and decided to shoot with a large aperture; Making the figures in the background unrecognizable. The road also seems to guide they eye towards them, they are a wonderful addition to the shot, but do not distract you too much from the actual subject.
Wow, a free bipod!! =)
funny, well composed. what was he shooting?
A not only attractive photograph and technically perfect, but also nice! :)
funny, good work!

The way his girlfriend is standing... it almost liiks like this:
"Ugh. Hurry the hell up and stop being so cheap and buy a damn tripod!"
:)
Excellent find : ) Love the photo and the idea!! Looks like she has no complains.
Great post, Laurie. That's funny! The girlfriend seems so patient. I imagine that she's been utilized as a bi-pod before! ;-)
