Busy Weekend
It was a very busy weekend. Between the kids things, and working around the house, helping out a friend, organizing photos, and trying to get in some fun, it was quite hectic. But it was a very nice one indeed. It felt like summer, hot and hazy. I hope everyone had a good weekend too.I did get out shooting too but because my computer time this weekend was spend solely on organizing my thousands of photos in Lightroom, I didn't have time to process but one or two of them. This is one of them. This was taken at a friend of ours house. Mark helps them to open their pool in the summer and the water level was really low so he had to fill it which takes hours and hours. They were away so he had to check on the level every few hours to see that it didn't overflow. We stopped there to check on the progress on our way someplace else. While Mark was messing with the pool I waited on the deck and noticed the bottle sitting on the rail and I thought it had a very summery feel to it so I of course shot it.
I only made a slight dent in organizing my photos, so I know what lies ahead for me over the next few days. I hope to make the rounds and visit you all this week.

Well, I should organize my pictures too... :-( I hate this job.
Nice minimalist image! Simple yet effective!
cette simplicité est magnifique
It is a summer type shot! I've never heard of Cane Cola, but it sounds sweet! :-)
Good luck with the organizing!!! It takes a long, long, long time. I made myself do 1,000 images/day. It took nearly 3 weeks and I was very much sick of it by the end; however, it was well worth it. Now I can find anything in a matter of seconds to minutes!
Nice, sharp image! Good luck with the organizing, for sure! I was pretty good at it and then the past three months or so, I've fell off. So I have some organizing to do as well!
Great shot-feels like summer!
Happy organizing!
Love that blue shade.
Good shot, Laurie. I've been organinzing my photos too, so I can feel your pain. :-) It's proven to be a much more involved project than I anticipated.
classic compo :) Guess that it's the combination of the glass and wood textures + the saturated red and the blue that make in interesting ! + the shallow dof usage which makes it all pop of the screen ! NICE !
i like the details in the woood
Simple and beautiful daily shot!
Laurie, I love the textures and colors in this shot. Never heard of Cane Cola. Is it like Sasparilla? Good luck with your organizing.
I am soo glad I very early on learned the importance of have a good archiving system for my images.

Superbe !!!!
Ciao Laurie. The thing that pleases me of more is the geometrical composition, a contemporary painting seems.
You're right... feel the summer too with this shot. Great bottle by the way. Never seen this but must be delicious ;-)
Bonjour,
Nice sharpened shot..Good composition..Very nice..Bravo!
Great image.
I'm so jealous of even the word "heat" at the moment, stuck as we are in virtually arctic weather, that i'm not even going to tell you how nmuch i like the summery feel of this!!
Dandy still life.
Ah, Lightroom, you are going to love it. It saves a LOT of time. I'm a big fan.
Organizing Lightroom... I just imported my existing library, worked fine for me. I already had the structure I wanted, so I kept it that way. Lightroom did fine with it.
=)
Outstanding detail and tones Laurie! Excellent idea - great eye!
