A Pair of Fawns

This was shot yesterday afternoon from a parking lot. When I pulled into the lot I saw them standing there cleaning each other. It was so sweet. By the time I got my camera out of the bag they had already lay down. I snapped a few shots but there were branches in the way so I decided to move carefully closer to see if I could get a clear shot without spooking them. I definitely had their attention and they did run but not before I managed a couple of shots of them.

An incredibly tender capture! Must have been wonderful having a moment with them. And beautifully composed considering that you were trying to take the image quickly.

These really are beautiful creatures - it's really too bad they're not so common around here as they used to be.. although I think my stepmother is happy that they no longer chew up her garden!

This is a very tender image. Very nice. One of these little cuties almost ran out in front of my car this afternoon (same place where I took the dragonfly photo). Fortunately, we both stopped in time. She just kind of stood on the side of the road and looked at me curiously before turning around and heading back into the woods where her mother was waiting, no doubt.
