Surprise!!! Gotcha!!!

This is actually a shot taken at a fair last summer. Jon has big beautiful eyes which he's taken to hiding behind his long shaggy hair. His hair in this shot was actually short compared to what it is now. I have to sneak up on Jon to get photos of him and that was the case for this shot.

I went for a high key look for this shot. I blended a slightly softened, overexposed layer with the original and masked back in the detail and color in the eyes.

Laurie, this is such a departure from your usual stuff, and quite a surprise, but excellent nonetheless. The tones are wonderful...you made great choices in the postprocessing. Wonderful wonderful work.

Laurie, this is very different from what I've come to expect of you (LOVE your b/w nature photos), but I have to say, this is impressive! The high key processing adds a wonderful softness and drama to this image.
