The Mission is Goin' Fishin'

I know I've been scarce but I've been really busy. Busy is good though. I haven't had a lot of time to shoot for the blogs unfortunately.

This is from the same day as the previous shot. We stumbled upon this great fishing pier while roaming around looking for new sights. This pier goes way out into the bay and it was a pretty cool place. In the distance you can see New York. It was pretty deserted when we were there but that's not surprising considering it was a Monday and not a very nice one at that.

I got some news from Rob in Iraq, good news too. He has been awarded an Army Commendation Medal! and, he got promoted! I don't have all the details since his email was short and a little confusing, something about getting his promotion now since he was up for another one anyway. I'm not sure if that means he actually got two ranks but it almost sounded that way. I know he was due one a while back. I emailed him to try and get it straight and I'm waiting for his reply. He goes on AIM late at night here and I usually miss him especially now that I have to be up by 5 AM. I will let you all know when I hear back from him.

Very nicely processed in B&W, the weathered look of the pier and the variety of textures is excellent.

Laurie, Very nice composition and contrasts. The pier leads my eye right to the fisherman and then the skyline. Busy is good, it keeps you out of trouble :)

Rob, this is for you guy..."HOORAH!". Way to kick butt!
