Happy Birthday Rob!!!
previous / nextToday, October 22nd, is Rob's 22nd birthday and he is celebrating it over in Iraq. He is supposed to come home in a few weeks for R&R and we are so excited to be expecting him home soon. We miss him so much.
So Rob if you read this just know how much we love you and miss you. We think of you every day and pray for you every day. You are a true hero and we are so proud that you are our son.
This is a photo to remind Rob of home. It is the woods near our home where he sometimes played when he was a boy. If I had a scanner I would have scanned a cute picture of Rob from when he was a little boy. He was so cute!

October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month so I just wanted to remind everyone of the importance of regular self exams, mammography, and anual checks by your doctor. For more information here are several links:
Please pass on this information to your family, friends, and co-workers. It's very important and could save the life of someone you love.

Wow, nice one Laurie :) I like the lighting that's flying away from me and that light vingette suits the photograph good!
Happy Birthday to your son Rob. 22 on the 22nd. I'm proud of him serving too and will keep him in my prayers.
Oh yes, nice picture too.
it's a lovely shot, and the way you've processed it makes the scene quite magical.
Happy Birthday Rob!
Happy birthday to Rob and best wishes of beautiful walks together in "your" wood.
Hey, Rob! A big shout-out from North Carolina. Happy Birthday!!! Hope you get to come home soon to play in the woods! :-)
I Like the way you framed this. it would be nioce to see the original colour vers too.
Happy birthday to Rob
padraig...there weren't very many interesting colors in this shot, mostly the leaves were still green and the leaves on the ground were mostly brown, which was the main reason I went with black and white. Fall has been slow to come to my woods this year. Over the weekend though I did find plenty of color. I posted one on Parallel Universe and I will be posting some here in the future. Thanks for visiting.
Very nice picture. I like the way you focused it.
Happy birthday to Rob
I hope Rob sees this sentimental photo, Laurie. It's beautiful, and would mean a lot to him. How wonderful that you have this reunion to look forward to. Your family is in my prayers, as is Rob and the others in Iraq.
This is awesome Laurie. It seems to have the same feel as some of the G8 posts.
This could have been a boring shot but it definitely isn't. The lights and shadows are beautifully captured. True photographic skill...nice one Laurie.
A great post for his birthday. A happy birthday for sure. And continued hope for safety!

congrats, and a beautiful view you made of this place.
belated Happy birthday to Rob!
lovely shot.
The lighting in this one is beautiful, Laurie, as well as the sense of depth. Hope that Rob had a wonderful B-Day!
Gorgeous. This photo does not need color for me to see the fall colors. Love the brilliance in the center.
I found you via Kathleen Connally's photo blog. I am wondering why you have 2 separate blogs.
