Grey Goose
previous /nextI know I posted 2 consecutive days...wow!!! I haven't done that in a long time. But I've been having some fun with my new DIY photography "toys" and I'm anxious to share some of the photos.
In keeping with yesterdays shot, this is what I was actually shooting before I took yesterday's. I think it turned out ok. I should have rotated the bottle a little bit more so that the "S" and the "E" in goose was more in the shot. A little more refining to do and more practice is needed but not bad for the first time out of the (light)box...I know, I know, that was just corny!
I used another one of my new DIY photography toys in the photo posted at Parallel Universe if anyone is interested in checking it out.

Argh! Now I feel like having some vodka. Grey Goose is one of my favs, so very cool shot! (Also, I have to start peeking at your other blog!)
mmm looks like a great Vodka Martini
wonderful pic... the 'toys' look to be working well..
:o)
T
Composition nette et sans bavure :-)
This turned out GREAT!
Laurie, you have some wonderful lighting here, nice DIY job.
great still ife! perfect light :)
I really like how the light and reflection show in the glass. Its a beautiful dramatic still life.
An elegant composition!
Perfect picture : like an pro advertising!
superbe composition très crispy. mais de la vodka française huuuum! boire et fumer il faut choisir ;)
Very nice. It looks good enough to drink. I would try moving the whole setup farther from the background to eliminate the shadows.
Great shot. I cant remember how I got here but I will definitely be back. Wonderful photogrpahy.
@Russ. Thanks Russ. I really wanted to move it further from the background but it wasn't a big enough lightbox for me to do that. The lightbox I made was not quite large enough for this set up. I need to make a larger box. The bottle was too tall and the background sweep was too short. I knew I would have some shadow issues. I suppose I could have brushed them out in photoshop.
shaken or stirred?....very commercial..
Yum. both the photo and the libations
Hi Laurie
Beautiful composition, very nice light and a great background!I'm really fan of this picture! how did you do the white background?
Super bravo!
@ricochet...Thanks!
The white background sweep is a piece of white poster board. It was a little smaller than what I would have liked. I think I will try to get my hands on a roll of white paper.
