Do Not Disturb
previous / nextThis was shot last Friday evening at about 8:30 PM in Downingtown PA. I went to the Eagle Gallery to see Betsy Barron at the opening of her group show. She is such a sweet person and just a pleasure to meet. I really enjoyed talking to her and seeing some of her beautiful prints. They are indeed beautiful.
She told me about this beautiful little park that is just around the corner from the Eagle Gallery and she mentioned that sunset is particularly beautiful there. It was late but I caught a little bit of light and a few photos before the Park Rangers chased us out. Some day I will have to go back.
I found this little birdhouse with it's lovely view of the park to be quite amusing with it's "Do Not Disturb" warning penned on the outside. There were several like it with #'s. I do not know what kind of birds are or were nested in them. They certainly had some prime real estate with great views though.

As of July 2008 I have decided to post the same photos on "Parallel Universe" as I do here. It has become too complicated to maintain two different photoblogs on a regular basis. Feel free to visit "Parallel Universe" and look through the portfolio/archives since there are quite a few photos there that were never posted here. I will continue to post on both since each one gets different viewers.

What a beautiful sky in the background.
Haha that's one funny birdhouse, and an good capture once again, Laurie!
Talk about having the best seat in the house, this has to be the best house in the feild. And just love the little notice. lol! But for me, it's the vine climbing up that seals it for me.
Great shot!

Nice image. Love how you've framed the mail box with its winding vines against the orange sky.
Laurie, this is a wonderful composition. I love the pink reflections in the water and the evening glow. The vine is the exclamation point for me. Nicely done.

Glad you made it to the Eagle Gallery show of women artists. I plan to go soon. Betsy just finished a solo show there which was spectacular. I like seeing photos I've seen on the web in printed form. I know Betsy through the Chester County Camera Club.
Very funny and original..!!
Gorgeous picture, I love the sky and landscape. Beautiful composition. BTW my new url is sirius2photography.com
I LOVE this Laurie! I LOVE to see birdhouses...and the warning is just perfect!
Fabulous background too!
Excellent shot, Laurie. Marsh Creek is a gorgeous place to shoot and I frequently go there at lunch time to de-stress during the day. Sorry I missed you at Betsy's photo exhibition. I'm sure it was well worth seeing. Unfortunately, I had to work late to tie up loose ends before leaving on vacation the next day.
I love this shot! Great compositiion, great colors and great feel to it!
