Coneflower Detail in Black and White
previous / nextAnother macro of a coneflower in black and white. I shot this with the idea of cropping it to square. It was tough to keep it in the frame and focus tight on the spiny center with the wind that day.

As of July 2008 I have decided to post the same photos on "Parallel Universe" as I do here. It has become too complicated to maintain two different photoblogs on a regular basis. Feel free to visit "Parallel Universe" and look through the portfolio/archives since there are quite a few photos there that were never posted here. I will continue to post on both since each one gets different viewers.

Love the softness of this image. Excellent processing.
Congratulations on the magazine. It truly is a beautiful image and worthy of publication. Love this greyscale flower too. Often I prefer flowers in greyscale.
Une extraordinaire photo avec beaucoup de qualités, la lumière, la composition, le format.
Congratulations on your magazine picture and for this great black and white macro. its like stars in the center of the coneflower.
Hey Laurie! Great to see you on my blog. Thanks so much for stopping by and commenting. My posts on Aminus have been sporadic at best. Life has been very...ummm...tumultous (for lack of a better word) with lots of change and adjustment going on. I hope you have been happy and well!
I prefere the b&w version !
Nice shot

the format, conversion, and framing, sure make for an interesting subject
well done
Ooooh! This is lovely!
This has a very dreamlike feeling to it as it moves from very soft to more defined in some areas. I like how the center almost looks metallic.
That really is quite the closeup and image. I think it really works in black and white. And it works well that that. Nicely done.
awesome macro! great contrast.
Lovely macro, showing in B&W does a nice job of emphasizing the wonderful textures.
I prefer the colour version. But both version are beautiful.
how wonderful! like your framing for this.
