Boat Lift
previous / nextThis is the big boat lift at Liberty Harbor Marina. I'm not sure how this one works, but when I was a young adult I had a friend who worked in a marina and the ones they had used these huge straps that went beneath the hull of the boat and then lifted it like it was in a sling. My guess is this one is like those only the straps do not look like they are attached.

As of July 2008 I have decided to post the same photos on "Parallel Universe" as I do here. It has become too complicated to maintain two different photoblogs on a regular basis. Feel free to visit "Parallel Universe" and look through the portfolio/archives since there are quite a few photos there that were never posted here. I will continue to post on both since each one gets different viewers.

Love the colors and the fish-eye effect. Nice!
awesome fisheye effect! :) i saw this video once on tv / youtube where they were moving a brand new big boat using a sling, and then it slipped and totally wrecked the boat.. (im rambling.. hehe..)
Another keeper Laurie. Beautiful brilliant blue sky and the fisheye lens works well with this shot.
..the Liberty Harbor Marina to the center and all the clouds around..., beautiful hit Laurie, really beautiful.
outstanding shot fish eyes lens?
colours and composition are very good.
It's fun to see how much the super wide angle really bends the world around us.. Nice shot!
Neat fish-eye effect, and yep, haven't seen one of these in years.
Cool! I like the wide angle here and it brings out the sky beautifully.
Nice, crisp shot. I like the hoist! Great clouds.
