Liberty Harbor Marina

previous / next

Many people may not realize this but there are marinas located in Jersey City. I know of 2. This one is located near the city proper.

The photo is of the sign on the odd little guard shack. I really wanted a fisheye photo of it for this series so I accepted the sun's not quite so convenient position and accepted the lens flare such as it is. It doesn't really bother me now that I look at it.

News:

This photo of the Bucknell Quad is a 2 page feature photo in the Summer 2008 issue of Bucknell Magazine.

As of July 2008 I have decided to post the same photos on "Parallel Universe" as I do here. It has become too complicated to maintain two different photoblogs on a regular basis. Feel free to visit "Parallel Universe" and look through the portfolio/archives since there are quite a few photos there that were never posted here. I will continue to post on both since each one gets different viewers.

Check out my other Photoblog portfolio/archives:

cool shot, the barrel distortion is just EXTREME but it works well with the circular sign, nice work.

flare from the sun didn't turn out bad, in fact, the shot benefited from it.. :) great shot! :D

the lens flare seems to fit right in with the lines of the sails.

You can take a shot of me after dinner holding my plate for a similar shot.

I'm really starting to dig the whole fisheye thing. I may have to get one now. I also LOVE the lens flare. What's wrong with lens flare now and then?

If a thousand people took this shot before you, you have the only interesting one. Really nice!

Laurie, this is a creative shot. I really like both the fisheye and flare. They definitely add drama to the picture.
