Yellow Bucket

previous / next

Taken the same day as the previous in Sandy Hook. It was a warm early fall day and there were quite a few people out and about enjoying the final moments of summer-like weather. The bucket and other gear belonged to a couple of guys who were fishing. I saw them walk up the path and when I was leaving there was no sign of them other than there gear and the sounds of their voices beyond the tall grasses and shrubberies.

I will be away for a few days on assignment so I might not be able to respond to comments. I do have some photos cued up for posting while I am away.

As of July 2008 I have decided to post the same photos on "Parallel Universe" as I do here. It has become too complicated to maintain two different photoblogs on a regular basis. Feel free to visit "Parallel Universe" and look through the portfolio/archives since there are quite a few photos there that were never posted here. I will continue to post on both since each one gets different viewers. I have also changed the title of Parallel Universe to Capture This Photography 2.

Check out my other Photoblog portfolio/archives:

Beautiful warm colors and I love the blurry parts in front.

Sorry for not commenting all this time, I promise to try and make it better ;)

I love the surprise of the yellow bucket. It really adds a flavor of character to this autumn shot.

Nice reminder of the summer Laurie. I love to go fishing a lot with the bait bucket, tackle box etc. Love the warm toned colors.

Nice composition. The yellow takes my eyes, then they continue down the winding path.

Shallow DoF is it always for me, and this combination with the serpentine path and the signal colored bucket does extremely well

Love the simplicity and the surprise of the yellow bucket found in the middle of nowhere. Very nice!

There's a story here. Had you not mentioned the guys and their sounds from the shrubs, I'd have asked about whose bucket it was. Now I merely wonder why they left the gear and what they were doing "beyond the tall grasses ans shrubberies." (blushing)
