Ivy League Squirrel
previous / nextOn a recent photo assignment one of the things I was supposed to try to get were some shots of the "insane" squirrels that resided on the campus of Bucknell University. This task proved to be far easier said than done. The squirrels were everywhere this is true, but they would not even give me a chance at getting much more than a blurred shot or they would hide out in the darkest places chattering at me with no hope for me to get a decent exposure.
The squirrels on the Princeton campus however were almost TOO eager to get there picture taken. Hence this shot of this rather plump fellow who was so perfectly framed by this shrub. I didn't even need my telephoto lens. I shot this at 70mm and it is not cropped. I think it was a plot against me to drive me crazy!

As of July 2008 I have decided to post the same photos on "Parallel Universe" as I do here. It has become too complicated to maintain two different photoblogs on a regular basis. Feel free to visit "Parallel Universe" and look through the portfolio/archives since there are quite a few photos there that were never posted here. I will continue to post on both since each one gets different viewers. I have also changed the title of Parallel Universe to Capture This Photography 2.

A fine close up of this cooperative squirrel. I feed them daily (peanuts) out my back window and they come and look expectantly until I toss some out.
They are smart and very persistent!
