Happy New Year 2009

previous / next

Happy New Year!

May 2009 bring Joy, Health, and Prosperity.

This was shot at the New York City Boat Show back in early December. When I saw these boats with the illuminated "New for 2009" on them I knew I would have to use one for my New Year's post. I think Mark wanted to find one of these under the tree this year, but Santa couldn't swing it this year. Perhaps some day.

Camera Settings:
NIKON D700
Nikkor 28-70mm f2.8
1/100 second
F/5.0
ISO 400
70 mm

As of July 2008 I have decided to post the same photos on "Parallel Universe" as I do here. It has become too complicated to maintain two different photoblogs on a regular basis. Feel free to visit "Parallel Universe" and look through the portfolio/archives since there are quite a few photos there that were never posted here. I will continue to post on both since each one gets different viewers. I have also changed the title of Parallel Universe to Capture This Photography 2.

Check out my other Photoblog portfolio/archives:

I like the glitter and shine on these new boats. It is always a pleasure to look over the big craft that are well beyond anything I could manage...or afford! :-)
This does make a great 2009 shot.

@NANNE...I wish! Actually my husband wishes! It would be nice but no it is not ours. It was one of many gorgeous boats we saw at the Boat Show in New York City in early December.

Friesland is just North of the Netherlands right? Wasn't it once a Dutch colony?

Great photo, love the reflections. I'm really beginning to wonder whether I should have gone the Nikon route instead of Canon. I see many photos taken with Nikons that seem to have that sense of presence. Maybe when I get full frame version (not Xti) it will come through.
