A Little More Winter

previous / next

Well winter is starting to let up with some more moderate temps...thank God...I just got my gas bill for the past month and YIKES!!! I've never had such a high heating bill in my life. It was cccccold last month. But I digress...This is another shot of the wooden paths through the Great Swamp. You can see a slightly different view of this same walkway in black and white from Fall 2006 here.

Lovely photo to walk in to.

We've just had another snowfall and everything is pristine, except for the cloud cover which is very grey and dark.

I LOVE the textures in this one - the rough bark on the trees, the smoother wood in the bridge - the fluffy snow. And it's a wonderful angle.

The one you took in 2006 is very different, a nice romantic image (to my eyes). I love seeing the places at different times of the year, and in different styles. Thanks!!

Know what you mean about the cold, I live in the mountains in PA and last month several nights were below 0 and it wasn't until Feb that temperatures finally got above freezing. The tones and perspective are what makes this picture so fascinating and beautiful. Great image Laurie.

@Kaneli...Thanks...I am really flattered. I am embarrassed to admit I don't have a clue how to do that. I thought you had to be nominated?

I love the picture, but I usually do. I love the hint of color and the capturing of the falling snow.

I like the inviting nature of the path leading through the woods. The previous black and white version was nice too, but the contrast between the warmth of the wood tones with the snow is very attractive.
