A Little More Winter
previous / nextWell winter is starting to let up with some more moderate temps...thank God...I just got my gas bill for the past month and YIKES!!! I've never had such a high heating bill in my life. It was cccccold last month. But I digress...This is another shot of the wooden paths through the Great Swamp. You can see a slightly different view of this same walkway in black and white from Fall 2006 here.

Lovely and peaceful. I like the hints of red.
Another beautiful image ! such a pleasure to view your blog
Wow... wonderful perspective... I'd like to walk on this little bridge to discover where it arrives...
beautiful
love the tone and the composition
Oh, great picture ! Zen....And tones are very nice.
Makes me wanna walk down to the other side. Nice tones.
Lovely photo to walk in to.
We've just had another snowfall and everything is pristine, except for the cloud cover which is very grey and dark.
really like the rich wood against the snow...
A timeless image... The fine composition and the nice post treatment give it a lot od charm.
This reminds me of a place around my area where I've taken pictures before. Like the red tones.
Zen colors and atmosphère !
I LOVE the textures in this one - the rough bark on the trees, the smoother wood in the bridge - the fluffy snow. And it's a wonderful angle.
The one you took in 2006 is very different, a nice romantic image (to my eyes). I love seeing the places at different times of the year, and in different styles. Thanks!!
Beautiful, color, texture, composition, just lovely! Great job on this one!
Great frozen swamp by the looks of things in this scene.
Beautiful winter scene and excellent color processing.
I think of a bridge of style Japanese, very good PDC.
I love the perspective of this shot. I think I would like to take a stroll there.
Very inviting... but a bit too cold for me...
Know what you mean about the cold, I live in the mountains in PA and last month several nights were below 0 and it wasn't until Feb that temperatures finally got above freezing. The tones and perspective are what makes this picture so fascinating and beautiful. Great image Laurie.
Hi Laurie!
you MUST post your blog on the 2009 Photoblog Awards!
cheers

@Kaneli...Thanks...I am really flattered. I am embarrassed to admit I don't have a clue how to do that. I thought you had to be nominated?
I love the picture, but I usually do. I love the hint of color and the capturing of the falling snow.
I like the inviting nature of the path leading through the woods. The previous black and white version was nice too, but the contrast between the warmth of the wood tones with the snow is very attractive.
Un pont qui serpente, joli cliché.
Fab lead-in lines. But *brrrrr*
beautiful composition and tones.
i like this path beacause it is so inviting! very nice.
Nice! The subtle snow fall is a cool detail here.
Looks cold but a cool place to take a walk. Beautiful image!
wow! awesome shot
beautiful juxtaposition with the fall shot. you should create a montage with the two side-by-side
beautiful composition. and i too like the red tones.
this is stunning.
Really cool nature trail! I like the falling show!
Hi Laurie
Well-captured, great shot! I like the vertical framing and the path leads the eye!
