This is another shot from the September outing with Mark, Betsy and Russ. This is a shot of Betsy as she was composing and taking this shot in one of the old barns in Hoffman Park, my Aunts former farm turned park.
Nikon D200 Nikkor 10.5mm f2.8 DX Fisheye 1/160 second F/2.8 ISO 200 11 mm
Not an easy shot with that high contrast of lightening but you got it well. Did you use also a tripod? may be with a D700 a tripod is not often necessary.
@Olivier..Thanks...I rarely use a tri-pod and did not for this shot. I'm more apt to use a mono-pod and even then rarely. I have a really good tri-pod and ball-head and it is usually with me when I go out shooting, but I like to move quickly and do many different compositions of the same scene. So unless I need to shoot with shutter speeds less than 1/100 second, you will see me shooting handheld. I've even learned a shooting technique that has allowed me to shoot as low as 1/15 second handheld without VR assist with pretty consistent results. I don't normally need to do that but if the need arises its nice to know I can manage it. The biggest problem for me with that technique is that it works best if you are a left eye shooter which I am not normally but do manage, and I can only employ the technique shooting in horizontal orientation and not vertical orientation too well.
The thing I miss most is photographing farms and barns -- but I'm hoping to get out to the country as soon as the weather turns. I'd like Mae to experience life in the country... and -- I'd like to continue my barn project!
Once again -- I love the image -- wonderful color and tones...
