Pretty Pink and a Little Pot

previous / next

I was just having some fun with a huge begonia plant my neighbor gave me the other day. Thanks Holly!!! It is beautiful! I nipped one of the many gorgeous blooms from it and played around with it in my studio. The little stoneware pot is from somewhere out in the Western USA, New Mexico, Santa Fe...I think. It was a long time ago when I was there. I was just a teen when I got the little pot. It is only a couple of inches high. I though they looked charming together.

Wooo. Those colours really pop. Just the antidote to the grey rainy day we're having.

Wow - what an intensive red! And you managed very well to keep details in this strong color, which is where I failed already several times.
Compositionwise it is appealing: the signal color seems to jump right in your face when the image gets rendered. Forms and perspective (and the combination with the pottery) are excellent here.

The light is soft and the colors are really good which is not easy with pink and red colors. The pot is a nice element too.

They do look wonderful together. And I love the saturated pink -- so cheerful! Enjoy the warm weather this weekend. :)
