Longing for Better Days III
previous / nextI think this will be the last in the Burlington County Prison Museum series for now. These scenes were part of an installation art in the museum. They really did evoke an emotional reaction. While my sympathies lie with the victims of crimes and not the criminals who committed the criminal acts, one cannot help but be impacted by the profound despair in places such as this.

You can feel the loneliness. Great capture, Laurie.
Well done. I am just reading about Albert Speer, Hitler's Nazi Armaments Minister, and his 20 years in Spandau prison and his diary of those years makes interesting reading for me.

interesting shot - I like the light and the composition you chose.
it does really make one feel depressed.. nice shot! :)
A lonely feel to this.
bonjour,
nice framing and lightness..beautiful details..bravo!
Love it! Great light
Looks like a great place to curl up and read a good book.
feeling that this man is very human...
Great capture - and you are correct. It's hard to sympathize with criminals, but the despair is obvious. Again, great capture.
Laurie, your words are so wise. Very moving image (lighting is perfect!).
Prison isn't supposed to be a picnic, but I know what you mean. I was in Alcatraz last year, and you can't help but feel sorry for those inmates.... horrible conditions to live in.
For prison, this fella sure has some nice boots. :-)
