NY Waterways Ferry
previous / next (8-7-09)This was shot the same day as the previous post but from Hoboken...yes we do spend a lot of time in Hoboken. I've become very fond of that city since I've been photographing there over the past couple of years. I was shooting in the opposite direction when I heard the Ferry behind me so I quickly turned around and grabbed the shot as the Ferry started to turn toward NY. It was such a lovely evening with wonderful golden light.
This was 100% processed in Lightroom...no HDR...I don't have a clue how to do HDR. No add on filters or plug-ins only Lightroom's default tools.
Nikon D700
Nikkor 28-70mm f/2.8
1/125 second
F/9.0
ISO 400
28 mm
There is a lot of stuff going on right now and I am so very busy. I have some very hopeful exciting news and I am wanting to share it but cannot...just yet. It is of a personal nature not related to photography but it is something I've been waiting for for a long time and if you have been following me for a while you will understand why I am excited about it. I should know by the end of the week if it will happen. I'm requesting positive thoughts in the meantime.

Excellent composition. I like the colors of the sky and the skyline in the background.
beautiful light
when the light is so beautiful, who cares for hdr? :)
the colors sure look lovely.. great work.. :)
This is very, very good. The motion of the boat and space in front leads to the skyline and the clouds at upper left force the viewer to keep going back in that direction too. Great colors and composition all the way around.
I'm sending all my positive thoughts your way!!
Thinking good thoughts for you Laurie...I hope you get your wish.
I can feel the breeze on my skin and the smell of the water from this shot. Its stunning .
Wow..what a great travel photo! Isn't it nice to have wide angle back at only 28mm?
magical light on this one, and good color saturation Laurie
just a great shot and place and love the light in this view.
Beautiful shot. The ship and the surroundings have been captured very nicely.
The wonderful azure sky of your last photos inspires me again and again. Great shot.
