Evening in Hoboken

previous / next (9-23-09)

In case you hadn't noticed we spend a lot of time in Hoboken NJ. :) It is fast becoming our favorite place to go on the weekends. It seems likely that we will eventually want to move there, but not until all the kids are out of the house, and if the bestest neighbor in the whole world lets us...Hmmmm...that could be a problem... :)

This was shot handheld...my tri-pod was in the trunk of the car many blocks away...doh! Thankfully the D700 does well with high ISO although I will admit that I applied a little noise reduction to the sky. The blue luminance picked up a little noise...not much noise but some and it probably would not have been noticeable when I resized it to post.

Nikon D700
Nikkor 28-70mm f/2.8
1/40 second
F/5.0
ISO 3200
52 mm

This is beautiful. You've done a great job framing the empire state, and that sky is SO blue. And I hardly see any noise. Nice work. Makes me wanna go back to NYC (and NJ)

What a gorgeous shot, Laurie. What a coincidence. I make a post today about high ISO and is it really needed. :-)

What a great image. I like the framing of the cityscape and really like the reflections in the water. Nice capture!
