Deserted Court

previous / next (10-19-09)

We are socked in this weekend with some very nasty, wet, windy, and cold weather. I dug through the archives all the way back to 2007 to find an image befitting the weather. It hasn't exactly been foggy but it has definitely been dank and dreary. Looks like no shooting this weekend.

Nikon D200
Nikkor 28-70mm f/2.8
1/400 second
F/8.0
ISO 400

Very nice shot. Kinda lonely on the basketball court - just you and the rain.

To transport feelings like this loneliness, dark, cold, wet weather I cannot imagine anything other then such a forlorn place rendered in b&w.

Here in Bavaria we had the warmest october day since more than 100 years, but within 8 days temperatures fell by 25 degrees. Global warming means more climate extremes over here, as predicted.

Il y a une certaine ambiance de lumière qui filtre cette beauté, il y a personne sauf la nature pour combien de temps encore.

this is so beautiful. i love fog shots. the branch patterns look so intricate and i like the contrast between the branches and the empty court.

Stunning composition, lovely misty mood. The leaves almost look infrared, definitely a beautiful effect.

Fall is such a different season. Full of sun and color one day, dreary the next.

I love your foggy photo - and what a perfect choice for B&W. Beautiful!!

Very cool shot. I love capturing shots such as this, a place like this court or a playground that is usually brimming with activity, but is lonely and empty because of the weather. Very well done.

Wow sort of a scary feel to this shot. Looks like some sort of haunted basketball court! Great shot!
