Oh My! Jon Turns 18 Today!
previous / next (11-9-10)I cannot believe it. My "little" boy is 18 today. All 6'4" of him that is. Where did the time go? How did this happen? Soon he will be off to college and my house will be so quiet...which might be a good thing...no...I will miss that deep booming voice and the "noodging" I always get from him.
As some of you know he does not like having his picture taken so I have to be sneaky about it. I managed this one when we were in upstate NY visiting colleges. On this trip we visited Ithaca and Syracuse. This was shot at Skaneatelas Lake just outside of Syracuse. It is a beautiful little place.
Jon's plans for college are to pursue a degree in music education and minor in Japanese. He plays the violin and viola and will be auditioning on viola which has become his main instrument. If the music doesn't work out his back-up plan is to major in technical theater with a Japanese minor.
A little brag time...he is in National Honor Society, Math Honor Society, Tri-M music honor society. He has been the concert master in the school orchestra in his Junior year and this year his Senior year and was principal violist in youth orchestra last year. This year he is second chair viola in the youth orchestra but that is still very respectable with the competition there. He doesn't have a dream school at this point and is pretty realistic with his expectations. I think he will be successful no matter where he ends up or what he studies.
