Ivy League Squirrel

previous / next

On a recent photo assignment one of the things I was supposed to try to get were some shots of the "insane" squirrels that resided on the campus of Bucknell University. This task proved to be far easier said than done. The squirrels were everywhere this is true, but they would not even give me a chance at getting much more than a blurred shot or they would hide out in the darkest places chattering at me with no hope for me to get a decent exposure.

The squirrels on the Princeton campus however were almost TOO eager to get there picture taken. Hence this shot of this rather plump fellow who was so perfectly framed by this shrub. I didn't even need my telephoto lens. I shot this at 70mm and it is not cropped. I think it was a plot against me to drive me crazy!

As of July 2008 I have decided to post the same photos on "Parallel Universe" as I do here. It has become too complicated to maintain two different photoblogs on a regular basis. Feel free to visit "Parallel Universe" and look through the portfolio/archives since there are quite a few photos there that were never posted here. I will continue to post on both since each one gets different viewers. I have also changed the title of Parallel Universe to Capture This Photography 2.

Baby Moo

previous / next

This is another shot from the Monmouth County Fair on July 26. Do they get any cuter than this? He looks a little sleepy to me. Irresistible!

I will be away on (photography) business for a few days so replies and visits will be slow.

My photoblogs are on auto pilot until I return.

Marbles

I was at the Monmouth County Fair on Saturday afternoon, July 26, and saw all sorts of cute animals. I thought this adorable little guy looked sad. He was probably just bored with it all.

Proud Kitty

I haven't posted a shot of Missy in a while and I came across this photo of the regal feline in my archives. I'm not sure what she was staring at so intently, probably something outside the window.

Missy is 10 now and she still acts like a kitten at times which is nice, although she is slowing down a bit. That may be due more to her ample girth rather than her age. She's a bit of a chubber even though we control her diet.

She does miss her boy, Rob, though. She can't get enough of him when he's home and seems sad for a while after he leaves.
