Pine Under Glass

previous / next

I've been so busy I haven't been able to catch up like I wanted to. Lots going on and some of it is very exciting, some of it is tedious, and some of it is stressful, or a combination of all of the above...but more on that later.

This is yet another one from the ice storm. The ice storm is a distant memory due to the 50-60 degree temps we've had the last couple of days. I've been trapped in the house though unable to get out and enjoy it or take photos. Well maybe tomorrow. In the meantime I was perusing some of the archives and I found a few that I've overlooked in the past and may post in the future...we'll see.

Ice Storm-Berries 3

previous / next

This is the last in the ice storm series...I think. I have more but I don't want to get too boring with them. I hope you enjoyed the series. As I mentioned before I am horticulturally challenged so I have no idea what kind of berries these are. If anyone knows feel free to set me straight.

Ice Storm-Berries 2

This is the second photo in the ice storm series which was also shot in Mohawk Park on Friday after the ice storm. This is a more isolated view of the same kind of berries as the previous photo.

Thanks to Kathleen, I now know that this is called Multiflora Rose (Rosa multiflora Thunb.ex Murr.) Actually I know a lot about it now because she is a master when it comes to this stuff and left a wonderful detailed description and history in the comments on the previous post. Thanks Kathleen!

Ice Storm-Berries 1

previous / next

This was shot on Friday in Mohawk Park the day after we had a nasty ice storm. I have a series of photos of ice storm shots featuring different berries covered in ice that I will be posting in the coming days. I am horticulturally challenged so I have no idea what kinds of berries they are so if anyone can tell me I would appreciate it.
