Worn Out

previous / next

It's been pretty busy around here so I haven't had a lot of time for posting or visiting.

Jon's Confirmation was wonderful. He did such a great job and it was quite moving. It was all the more special having it on Veteran's Day with Rob there with us to celebrate.

Rebuilding

I found this building on a drive last weekend. I had parked behind it so I could take some pictures of an old abandoned mill on the opposite side of the street. It didn't look like much when I first looked at it. It was a mostly overcast afternoon with peaks of sun from time to time. When I returned to my car to leave, I noticed the late afternoon sun hitting the side of the building and the shadows really caught my eye. It looked as though repairs had been started on the building and then perhaps abandoned.

I am still trying to get my archives up and running again. Despite trying all sorts of different fixes, I still have no idea what is going on with them and Blogger has yet to respond to my numerous requests for help. I am among a number of other Bloggers who have been suffering through this issue for several weeks and some for several months now. In the meantime it is what it is, and I am sorry for any inconvenience it may cause. To view earlier work you can still click on the current photo and it will take you to the previous one.

Secure the Bow Line!

I guess if you don't have cleats to tie off to then I suppose a large nail will just have to do.

I shot this in October when I was down at the waterfront walking around and just enjoying the sights, smells, and sounds on a beautiful Autumn afternoon.

This weekend was very busy, not much time to shoot, but I did get ahold of some ND and Grad ND filters for my wide lens...can't wait to experiment!!! I also got a low profile polarizer for my wide angle 12-24mm, the one I was using was vignetting too much and made it so that I had to crop or clone the corners. But OUCH!!! that polarizer was one expensive puppy!!! At least the other one is still fine for my 200mm.

I'm afraid winter will make it tough to find interesting things to shoot. It may be tough to find enough stuff to post especially now that I have 2 photoblogs to maintain...what was I thinking? I'll manage somehow I'm sure.

I also did some Christmas decorating. I always start the day after Thanksgiving and usually finish by the end of the long weekend. I didn't quite finish but I'd say other that the trees, I am 95% done and it looks beautiful inside and out, except that my front yard is still torn up from the continuing remediation efforts. Some day I'll have a driveway and lawn again...sigh...
