Drowning in a Sea of Doubt
Well I am working on building a new and improved web-site. The problem is I am a computer-phobic-techno-boob, and I know precious little about such things, well at least HTML, web-sites, FTP servers, and blah, blah, blah anyway. But...I am determined, if nothing else, to conquer this new frontier. I know most of you are probably thinking; "Wow what a dinosaur! Must be stuck in the 19th century, or living under a rock, or something."My methods for managing my site now are unconventional to say the least, but hey, they work well enough for me, and the bottom line is I can do it...sort of. Without Rob here to help me, I have to slog through and do things trial and error. Russ and Jon "act" as if they know nothing about it, but they are wise to me and don't want to end up as my personal IT guys like Rob was, so they are playing dumb with me I suspect.
On an up note, I actually talked to Rob yesterday on the phone. He got a local phone number through AIM and I can call him if he's on line for free. He cannot call out but if he's on line anyone can call him. He sounded good, but they had a power failure on base and the lights and air conditioning went out making it pretty brutal. His laptop battery was dying and died during our conversation so it was cut short...oh well, I'll take what I can get.
